Happiness was again the charaeteTis-' tic note of the Association Dance on June'l4th when the very wet weather in no way deterred, the many patrons who look forward to ibeing present at these fortnightly--functions. Such? coni'tinned attendance reflects the utmost credit on ttio management of ' these dances and the Association Committee is-, to; be congratulated on 'being so able to thus Jiold the patronage of the dancing public, ; Mention of just one item may convey an idea of the happy atmosphere prevailing at this dance. Time 10.30 p.m. lights lowetred, tfche'spotlight-playing in. pretty colours on the moving dancers, soft music, and the dancers, led fay a vocalist member of the orchestra, all joining in the singing of the present popular melodies; subdued, pleasing, mo onlbboker could fail to be impressed by a* scene of such, harmony—a scene at once delightful both to eye and ear. s Miss M. West and Mr. iWm. O'l#eary, ■both of Lower Hutt, Miss A. Johnstone, Petone, and Mt. F. Kiedehaw, Miraanar, were the winners of the prizes in the Monte Carlo dance?. .
