MOERA RATEPAYERS' LEAGUE.
Tk<y first quarterly meeting of tihe above League was- held on June 19th, Mr. Sutherland presiding. The Seeretaiy (Mr. Napier), read the report for the last three months and showed that the committee has had a very busy time. Already over two hundred members have joined and by. the time the district ia fully ,canvassed it is hoped to have a record roM. . . Many complaints were received by the Committee, and brought under the, notice of the responsible people. . It was deeMed; to bring under notice of the Minister o-f Health the fact that permits were being granted for ,building-on sections below street •leved, ■' there toeing no for storniivviateT drainage. , It was also decided to petition the ;'district ro the obtaining of storiruwater
drainage, the petition to be forwarded to the' Minister of Public Works through the Member for the District, Mr. W. Nash M.P. A reques.t is being made to the Power Board'asking that they instal an account receiving depot in this vicinity . in'vciw of the fact that tiher office is so inconvenient and expensive to get to. The cash statement was read and showed a good balance on the right side. To date £20/17/10 are tho total receipt^; expenditure £6/5/3; cash, in hand £12/13/-; petty cast £1/19/7j l>al, auce £14/12/7. The result of their endeavours are a great credit to .-the executive committee. .'.■..'.
