Last Wednesday evening a very happy ''kitchen tea" was given at Mr H. E. Ryder's residence ,to Miss Violet Parrant on the eve of her marriage to Mr George Harrington. Dancing competitions and games formed part of the evening's entertainment and vocal items rendered by Miss L. Wright were greatly appreciated. The numerous gifts which were opened andt displayed during the evening undoubtedly proved the popularity of the bride' elect. Mr Harrington in a neat little speech; thanked the guests for their generosity to Miss Parrant* The evening concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and "For They Are Jolly Good Fellows."^ Mr Bay Ryder was at the piano.
