The Fire Brigade turned out-, to two fires int'he, early hours of Tuesday ni.orni.ngl Thei ;B«stj Which, was fortwnately iiotj of a. serious nature, came at 12.15 a.m When a fire in the boiler robin of the Hutt Meat Company was quickly extiniguisjhed without a great deal of daanage Miag dooae. The secontl alfLTni vras> of a much more serious nature and came from -No. 9 Kings Road, at a few minutes before 4 ;a.tn. The •house 'contained five room and was occupled by Mr. B. S. liaiigridge and owned by Mt.J. O'Brien. The hiouse, and its • -conite-nts were very; badly damaged by fire and waterj but the prompt action of the Brigade saved the outer waJlis- Mr and.
