ST JAMES' CLUB DANCE.

Held in St. James's Hall on Friday nigfot, the first dance of the season under the auspices of St. James's Club proved, in spite of the inclement weather, a very jolly function. The -hall was tra.ns.fomied into an attractive ballroom, decorated with yellow and green streamers, and was a pleasing contrast to the murkiness without. The Star Orchestra (Wellington), supplied tihe delightful and vigorous accompaniment to the dancing, and Mr. Gooxge Hill made a most efficient M.C T&e chaperons at this happy affair were Mesdames HanseM, in henna georgette; Tait,> blue lace; Toswill, green satin; House, black georgette and silver lace; Stoupe, black georgette; AAdous, brown georgette and lace; Yates, black georgette; Welch, black georgette and gold lace.
