WEDDINGS. DUNCAN-McMILLAN.
The wedding was recently solemnised at the Congregational Church, when Amelia Jane, daughter of Mrs and the
late-Mr. Angus McMillan was married to John Johnsrtone Hillsborough, son of Mrs and the late Mr. John JohnstoneDuncan. The Rev. R. T. H. Wearne was tie oflieiaiting clergyman, Mr. Lan Xkuncan acting as best man./ The bride, who -was escorted by her brother, wore an effective frock of ivory crepo-de-chine, with flared skirt and long points at the side. Her embroidered jeil, which was -lent by a friend, formed a train, while -her shower bouquet was of white and pink flowers. Her orfjtendants, Miss Margaret McMillan, and Miss Noelin Duncan, both wore
mauve and blue satin frocks, with tulle ■caps to tone, and -their * -charming bouquets harmonised with their frocks. Mi's McMillan held a reception at Tua Eva Hall where there were about sixty -guest's. She was attired in a frock of (black celanese satin with a black hat. The bridegroom's gifts to the -maids (we're gold armlets,' while to the -bride', he gave a grey f 4ox fur. On leaving the ehureth> little ..Helen McMillan (niece of the -bride) presented her with a lucky horseshoe. Later, Mr and Mrs Duncan-left for Wang&riui. JOHNSON—MeKEEN. Bowls of pink^and blue hydrangeas •were very effective at the wedding of Euth, daughter- of Mr and Mrs E. Johnson, to Eobert Buss ell, son of Mr and Mrs. B. McKeen/^at the Methodist Church, on Wednesday of last !*yeek. The bride who entered the d&urch on •the arm of hex father wore a charming ~ frock of ivory chiffon velvet, draped; lined with and finished with a large pearl ornament at the side, Her veil was of ■embroidered tulle, and was arranged in a coronet, with circlet of orange-blos-soms, while her bouquet was of roses, hot-fojouse freesias and maiden-hair crn« Her maids were Miss Doreen Johnson and iss Jessie McKeen, both of whom wore charming frocks of amethyst ■chiffon velvet and eyclomen marietto, the tighit, sleeveless bodiecs being of velvet and the skirts of mariette being Jong and pointed,~while the pretty felt thats", wide at the back, toned with the ifrocks. The bridesmaids' 'bouquets were of heliotrope sweet sultans and pink daisy-chiysanthemums and maiden hair fern, with heliotrope tulle stream•ers. Mrs McKeon's model frock was of golden4)rown crcpe-de-chino With •hat of same tone, finished with large •osprey..at the side. Mrs. Johnson's •charming "ixmquot was of many-hived gerbera daisies, while Mrs McKeen carried a bouquet of gerbera daisies and bron-ze chrysantiemume. The tables were beautifully decora-ted with zinnias, shading from pink to deep mauve. The "bride's grandmother, Mrs Hollard, was an a black embosserl chenille georgette frock and black pan' velvet hat, while ■the bride/s sister, Ml-s G. Udy wore a cherry model frock of crepe-de-chine^ wirtii ehamgagno cuffs and frontj and velvet-trimmed hat of same shade. Ahr •other sister, Mrs \E. Udy, wore royal blue coatee and pleated skirt of rolayiblue crepe-de-ichine, and felt hat of the same s-hade. Mrs Ayson was in green crepe satin with felt hat to tone. Mrs. Semple Js frock was of maroon chiffonvelvet trimmed with embossed chiffon, .with- which was worn a hat of lighter siade, with an oaprey at the side. The Bey. H. A. Sharpe was the officiating clergymen, Mr Bobert Stewart .acting in the capacity of best man ? wlhile Mr. Jack Semple was groomsman. * After the ceremony a reception .was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Johnson where the usual toasts were honoured, after which Mts Sharp© and Mrs E. .Udy sang charmingly.
