f Mendelssohn's "Hoar My Prayer" was inspiringly rendered by the Metholist Churci'h choir under the baton of Mr. Ernest I>a-wson, on Sunday evenng, the solos being sung by Miss Ai'isa Itfieol, who leaves very sluotitly for the Did Cmihr>ty, whore she intends pursung- her nmsical studies as a student of he Royal Academy of Mu.ce, London ■Vs t-his was hex last public appearance m New Zealand, the Rev. Mr. Sharp, wislhed her, on behalf of his eongrega-. jion, every success in the pursuance of ber studies. That Miss Nieol possesses, •;o an unusual degree, tiiose qualities '«»f intelligence, evenness and interpretive power which are so es>aenitial to the success of tihe musician, was amply <!omonstraited on Sunday night, and the volos of that exquisite composition of Mendelssohn were particularly suited to Miss Nicol's charming voice.
