COMING OF AGE.
A very happy evening was speit at theOddfellows' Hall, Petone, on April 12th when Mr and Mrs &. P. Holland : entertained a . number of friends in honour--6f the coming of age of their daughter,.. Gweri. Mrs Holland received her' guestswearing a beige " georgette and lacefrock. Miss Gwen Holland, wore a beautiful frock of pink satin an&i tulle, the bodice being of satin crepe tight fitting,, the skirt a full flare with tiny frills of tulle to the ankles. After -a .sumptuous supper the guest of the evening cut the beautiful pink birthday cake, which wasdeeorated with twenty-.one kewpies. ■Mr Holland' presented his daughter with a. golden key and Mr Maef arlane handed her another from a "Wellington friend. Several toasts were honoured and-then. cJancing was indulged in until midnight. Among those present were:—Mrs M» Price, black georgette and lace; Mrs E. J. Shephard, blue taffeta,; Miss Edna Fleet,, black georgette; Miss Hilda "Wheeler, black georgette; Miss Betty McTiernan r pink lace and taffeta bow; Miss Betty Hamilton, lemon, satin; N Miss Nancy Greenwood, pink satin and netj Mis* Jessie Eerr, pink georgette; Miss Mary Frame, white georgette; Miss E. McWhirter, red chenille and georgette; Mis» Letty Nissen, lemon -taffeta; Miss E. Galvin, flame satin; Miss A. Fitzmaurice' pink georgette; Miss M. Johnson, whitesatin and net; Miss E. Beynon, pink crepe de chine; Miss O. Whittington, black georgette and little Misses K» Douglas, C. Jarman and Florrie Platt> Messrs E. J; 'Chesswas (Wanganui) r Cayliss, Fargie, Hanson, Johnson, G. Holland. The music for the dancing was supplied by the Pennsylvania. Orchestra.
