HAUTANA CROQUET CLUB.
Tie Hautana Croquet Club iheld their official closing at their green, Hautana Street, when there was a good gathering of members honorary members,.and friends. The: President, Mrs^ W. An : drews, presented the trophies .won during the season. These were:-—Presi-dent 's Trophy, won by Mrs. Campbell; runner-up, Mrs; Barker. Mrs. Thompson 's Trophy, won by Mrs JLoekett; runner-up, Mrs Capes. Most Improved Beginner, Mts Barker's Trophy, won by. Mrs Melntbsh. • ,
Competitions were held duTing the afternoon, the winners being:—"French,' 'Mrs Gilbanks; "Golf," Mrs Gilbanks; '■ Hurry % Scurry,." Mesdames Campbell and "Walker. ' .
On behalf of the club appropriate gifts were presented to the President,: (Mrs. W. Andrews), Secretary (Mrs
Poole), and Treasurer (Mrs* Lockett).
Tie club's tthafiks are due to those Who donated trophies for competition; also to Mrs Schmidt fot her delightful singing during the afternoon and Miss J. Andrews for her recitations.
Afternoon tea brought a successful gathering to a close.

Mrs Sykes, Mrs Tamblyn's trophy. B Grade Championship: Winner, Mrs Martin, trophy donated by Mrs Bobinson, runner-i^p, Mrs^ C. Ellis, Mrs John's trophy. Handicap Singles: won by Mrs Monks, Mrs. Jones's trophy; Tunner-up Mrs Bowe, Mrs "\7estbury's trophy., Senior ..Pairs: Won. by Monks and Wilaon, Mrs. Ellis's trophy; runners-up, Mesdames Eowe and Elli8? Mrs. Monks*a trophy. Junior Pairs r- Winners, Mesdames Monks and Piper, Mrs Monks'& trophy. C. Grade Competition: .Won by Mrs. Wilson; runner-tkp Mrs Salt,' both trophies presented by Mrs Monks. •
-. Advantage was taken of the presence of Mrs. Leighton to make- a small presentation to her, and Mrs Monks inpresenting the small souvenir to Mrs Leighton, hoped that there might be many pleasant re-unions in the Old Land, and wished her a most enjoyable trip and '
safe return,
Each, of the officers" of the club was also the recipeitn of a small gift as a recognition of their services, The ladies •honoured were three in. number—_ Mrs Monks, captain; Mrs: Bowe^secre^^ tary; and Mrs. Piper, whose excellent management of the afternoon teas during the. season had contributed greatly to the comfort of the players, and had been financially most satisfactory. .
A "sit down" afternoon tea was also a happy feature of a most successful afternoon.
