ANNUAL PICNIC

The outside staff of the Lower Hutt BorQugh Council held their picnic last Saturday at Maidstone Park. They were favoured with beautiful weather, and a well organised sports programme was successfully carried out by an energetic committee. Mr Bush, the. Borough Engineer, was:in attendance and presented the trophies to- the successful competitors, all members of the picnic showing their appreciation of Ms attendance in n, very enthusiastic manner at the prize- j giving. The Committee responsible for the success of the picnic was A. Campbell, chairman, H. Fitzmauriee, W. Langford, £!. Ratcliffe, L. Little, A. Walker, J. Wetherall, J. Wilson, J. Anderson, C. C6le, V. Mitchell, J. Anderson and 15. Wilson, secretary.

One of the features of. the organising of the picnic was the wonderful response made.by the Lower Hutt business mea intonating trophies. Of all the firm's «anvsissed not one refusal was met witf. by the trophy committee, and all due thanks go to those business men- who were so liberal. with their donations.
