The monthly meeting of the Petone and Lower Hutt "Gas Lighting Board was held on Tuesday night. were present Messrs W. G. Lodder (cihairmanj, E. Hogg, C. -P. Bfbckelbank, W. G.. Meldrum, S. Clendon and W. T. Strand. '

Coal:—Estimated coal in stock March Ist,, 275 tons 12 cVt 1 qr.; ioal received, unscreened State 471 toils 4 cwt 3 qrsj coal in stock by measurement on April Ist, 325 tons. '
Owing, to yeiy difficult condition? at GTeynaouth, steamers ; ihave been unable to get out with coal cargoes and supplies for the month have -been low. ' '■
ResidualsT—Coke sold 93 ions 3 cwt 2 qrs; estimated coke in stock 75 tons. Tar Sales—Lower Hutt Borough 2684 Petone Borough, 696 gallons; other consumers, 365 gallons. :v
