WEDDINGS.
The wadding was solemnised on th«a evening of the 15th. March, ati SU» Augustine's Church, Petone, of Sadie Eiizabetih, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Clifton, of Petone, to George Ellis, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Skipage, of the Hutt. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. H. V. O. Reynolds. The 'bride, who was given away by Mr. C. A. Eeiehe of Petone, wore a frock of pale blue crepe de chine, with tight fitting bodice and flared skirt-, witfli hat .to tone, and carried a Wbuquet of roses, lilies and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaid waa Miss Lavinia Clifton, who wore lemonc georgette, with picture hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of roses and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold wristlet watch, and to tihe bridesmaid he gave a necklace of rhinestones. Mr. C. A. Mason, cousin of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man.
A reception was afterwards held at the fiiome of Mr. and Mrs. Skipage, Lower • Hutt, at which some seventy guests- were present. Mrs Skipage received iter gu-ests wearing a frock ef crushed rose satin with drooping fl red skirts and beige hat, her posey being of autumn tinted flowers and leaves. Mrs Clifton was wearing a navy satin coat with frock to tone, and fawn hat, and her bouquet was of rosjps and autumn leaves. The bouquets and posies which, were much admired wore the artistic work of Messrs C. F. Pilcher and Son, Waiwetu florists.
The bride, on leaving t«he iirm of W. D. and H. 6. Wills, was presented with a beautiful Eoj'al Albert afternoon tea set.
Mr. and Mrs,Skipage left by car for the north after the reception, tihe bride wearing a fawn costume and hat to tone, and fox fur. The happy couple were tie recipients of a 'great number of useful and beautiful gifts.
A quiet but pretty wedding was recently solemnised at the Methodist Church, when Hazel Gwendolyn Smitfr, daughter of Mr. Mark Smith, and the late Mrs Smith, was married to Attkol Thomas Hart, son of Mr and Mrs T. Hart. The bodice of the bridal frock was of. fine lace and the flowing skirt was of georgette. Her beautifully embroidered veil was lent for tihe occasion by the bride's cousin, Mrs Anderson. The veil was draped and caught at the sides witfli orange blossom, and her bouquet was of asters, belladonna lilies and maidenhair fern. Her bridesmaids wore her cousin, Miss Annie Sadler, who wore a frock of apricot French chiffon, her bouquet being of asters and maidenhair fern, while the other 'bridesmaid was Miss Lottie Belcher, the bride's niece, who was wearing a heliotrope frock, and bowquet to tone, and both bridesmaids wore large tulle hats to tone with their frocks. The •bride was given away by her father, •while Mr. Cliff Hemingsen, uncle of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. The Eev. C. H. Olds was the officiating clergyman, wMle Miss Garlick was at the organ. The reception was held at "Mornington," the home of the bride's sister, Mrs Sadler. Later Mr and Mrs Hart left by the Auckland express, the bride wearing a frock of rose crepe marocain, with hat of lighter tone, and gloves and s&oes to tone, the costume being completed with a fox fur. . ■■•.!>::
