FAREWELL PARTY.
Mrs M. K. Hughes, who left by the ''Aorangi 1' on Tuesday for England, via the Candian Pacific, was recently the gues.t of a number* of her friends at , an afternoon tea, held in fche D.I.C rooms. Mrs Gibson expressed the good' wishes of all^ and asked Mrs: Hughes to accept a small gift, as a memento. Among those present, were Mesdames Eoutley, King, .'Glover,!:: - Humphries; Berry, Alexander, Upton, Stonehpuse, N. Eoutley, Jenness and Bicfcarasonjand Miss Clarke and Helen Humphries.
At a party given by the Waimarie Croquet Club to its honorary members last week, opportunity was taken to. wish "bon voyage" to.one of its iirst members, Mrs Hughes, who has left fox the Old Counntry* Mrs Savage (president of tike elbib) in presenting Mrs Hughes with a suede travelling cushion on which was inscribed her monogram in the club's colours, said that Mrs Hughes had been a very keen member of their committee, and was a past president, and expressed the hope that Mrs Hughes might have a most 'enjoyable trip.
