PLUNKET SHOP DAY.

A successful sale was. held in the piunket Rooms on Friday last, :and there was also a stall at Main Street entrance to Riddiford Park to trap the unwary! and indefatigable were the ladies who assisted at this sale, and the depleted stalls late in the afternoon spoke of generous buying. There were fancy, produce, flqweT and cake stalls, i«il ; generousV ladeia,. and the Plunket committee wish to tiank the" public for the success of this effort.

At .a meeting of tie Plunket Society which was held in the Council Chambers on Wednesday last, Dr. Plat'tsMills spoke mo°st interestingly on the. Obstetrical ' Endowment Fund, and such enthusiasm! did she evoke, that a committee was immediately formed,which undertook to canvass the whole of the Hutt, and with- that object in view districts were allocated to thevarious canvassers. A very hearty vote of thanks was, accorded to the speaker fqr coming out to the Hutt . to explain the. objects of this worthy society, and it was felt that .the Plunket Society would tender its warmest support; as the scier«ce of obstetrics-is so. closely alKed, to ; the. aim of the Plurfket Society. One sometimes notices girls - eating their lunches in Riddiford Parkj and one cannot help wondering if" t&ey mow of the-nice Best Boom at the Plunket Booms, where all women, and girls are most welcome wheneyer they have spare time to while away.
