HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

A meeting. of the JBoard of Governors of. the Hu-tt Valley High School was held last w^eek. There were present Mr. H. G. Teagle in the ©hair, and Messrs D. A. Ewen, P. Robertson, J. Burns, J. Kerr, J. Stonehouse arid. Capt Oiphext. .

Tihe chairman extended a'cordial, welcome home to Mr D. A. Ewen after his long absenceabroad and expressed pleasure that his wife and daughter, who had been indisposed, had now recovered. <

The Principal reported that the number' on t»he roll this -year was practically the same as.last year.

Mr. Kerr moved that a motion of appreciation of the efforts of tie Principal and staff "be recorded in recognition of tie splendid examination results attained.

It was pointed out tihat the asphalt tennis courts were in very bad repair and the grounds committee was asked to take steps to hay« them repaired,

The grounds committee and the chairman were as&ed to make enquiries and report on the best form of motor lawn ihower to be secured. '

It was decided to hold the regular meeting on the fourth Thursday in the

month.

Great appreciation of the voluntary services of the Public Works foreman in supervising the building of t&e gymnasium was mentioned by Mr. Kidson, and the board decided to make a small present in recognition of the valuable work so freely,given. '
