The Wellington Provincial Croquet Tournament openß on Tuesday nex!t on the lawns of the' Waimarie- Hutt and Woburn ClKbs. It is very nice to.have these visitors in our town as it means a certain amount of increased business for our shopkeepers.

Prior to tie departure of this district's, late •representative in Parliament (Hon T. M. Wilf ord, K.C.), a presentation in the form of an altram containing the signatures of many of the residents was made at a 3ocial evening held in the Hall. The album was by.no mean filled with names, and arrangements have been made with the1 ''iEutt News?' to hold it open for a time so that those desirous of so doing may include their signatures with those already appearing.. The appearance of the signatures of his late constituents will be of particular interest to the present High Commissioner during -his long sojourn in London.
