YOUNG MAN DROWNED.
> ACCIDENT IN HUTT RIVER.
While, bathing with, half-a-dozen other young men in v the Hutt River on Sunday, about half-way between Melling Bridge and the old bridge at Lower Hutt,. Robert Arthur Woodham, aged 19 years, lost.3iis life'through drowning. Woddham resided with his parents at 6 Hutt Road, and was a plumber's apprentice. *. L '.
The accident took place at 12.30 pin, and it is supposed that, he must have struck his head either on,the riverbed, or on some, subnrerged object, wMeh rendered' hint trneonscious. He was■ xe--'< moved from the water in a very short space of time, and wa3 subsequently" attended to by Dr. B.J. Dudley, of Lower Hutt. All attempts at resuscitation, however, -proved in vain,. andlife was prononced extiict.
