■A meeting of the Pet one and Lower Hut.t. Gas Lighting Board was held last week.- ■-There-1 were, present Messrs1 W. G. Lodider (chairman),'C.'P.' Bro^ckelbani, W. G.; Meldrum, $. Clendon, V. E. Jacobsqn and E. T. Hogg.. The Superintendent of the Wellington Free Ambulance wrote thanking the Board for its donation. —Received.

The District Engineer, N.Z. Railwayswrote asking if the Board has any intention of going on with the. proposal of installing a private siding in the near future. • . .., - The.chairman said that some years ago the board had bought land {for a- siding > but their experience was that it would' not pay to put one in. . ■■■: It.was decided to reply that the boardi j ha 4at present no intention ;of going on with the siding;.
