LIFTING THE TUBERS.

When the growths have died downy the tubers should be lifted and stored. Cut the stem off at a distance of about six inches from the surface of the ground, and" make the labels fast to the Stumps. Lift the tubers by driving the spade down to its full depth on the four sides of each clump, and, working the spade well, under the clump, lift it bodily, taking care not to break ot tear the tubers in the process. The tubers should be stored in a cool, dry shed, aw-ay from draught, as that has a tendency to shrivel them.
