The death occurred last - Saturday morning at her son's residence, Penrose Street, of Mrs Jane Knight at "the age of 86 yeaTs. The, late Mrs Knight came to New Zealand when a girl of 13 and took up hfer residence in the Hutt where she reside! up to tihe time of her death. Next week we hope to give a fuller ace/ount of the interesting life of the deceased.

.Mr, J. H. Chapman, late of Hamiltoii. is about to open a pharmacy at Diiilcy's Buildings, the latest block of iine shops and residential flats in Main Street. Living on the premises he will be available for urgent calls at any -hour of the day or night. Mr. Ohapman has had some 17 years experience of his profession in the "Waikato and Auckland districts and has taken a prominent and active part in all forms of sports, including cricket, tennis, hockey and football, and has played in a number of the representative ' teams in various games. MrChapman, hopes tiiat when he gets settled down in his new business he will be able toi spend some of his leisure in helping to foster various forms of athletics in the Hutt district.
