BOROUGH COUNCIL STAFF.
In a abort but cordial ceremony the staff of tie Timaru Borough. Coancil -made a presentation to Mr Hollands, Mr. Fox (Bojoirgh Engineer), who made the presentation,, said he vas pleased to lmow that Mr Hollands, by his appointment, was being advanced but was sorry, he was leaving Timaru. M.T Hollands <h.ad got on-well with everybody and he had pleasure in presenting him with a handsome oat clock on behalf of the staff. He wished Mm every success in the future. ." (Applause). • v '
Replying Mr Hollands thanked those present for their kindly thought, and said that although1 he was- glad of the change he was corry to be 30Ing. The gift was a very fine one indeed az/l he would look on it in tite- years to come and reflect on the many happy assaciations for which it stood. "A rolling-stone gathers'no moss," remarked Mr Hollands, "but, believe me, it gathers a lot of 2ioney.'' In his 25 years oftravelling he had learnt many tthings and made many friends. He regretted leaving Timaru for he had enjoyed his stay.
O\i the singing of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow " and after ttyree hearty cheers for Mr Hollands had been givem the meeting broke up. _
