TEARS IN WOOLLEN MATERIALS.

Tears in tweeds and other ?oselywoven woollen materials are best mended with, threads that are unravelled from themselves. This is very easily -

done from an inside seam. Make a pad of newspaper and place the torn part over this, pinning it into position. This will not only keep the place flat but will help- to throw up tiie work, so that it is easy to see what one is doing. Working wrong side uppermost, take a suitable coloiired cotton and lightly draw any jagged edges together. Then darn the edges together with the strand of wool taken from the seam. In this manner the repair will hardly be perceptible. -
