The "results of the evening meeting on the 19th. November Showed a decided improvement on.the previous week's swimming. In the Men's Open, H. "WarWrton led the field tome in a close Tace, with D. Milne second. The ladies race provided a surprisein Miss M. House who swam o,way from the field and won by a clear yard from Miss Peg. Price, the otheis feeing very close up, • . . The boys provided the best finish, of the evening, young Pelham just winning, by a touch from B. Price, with ,Bob Henderson a touch away third".' , ' . The dual relay provided another win for Miss M. Hbu-se with Dick Tuppin as a partner. This pair- improved their time by three seconds ,on the previous week's swim. . . v These evening meetings aTe eactied on every Tuesday and are becoming popular all round. ' Ken. Mclntyre, the club's treasurer, was in winning form and caught the Judge's eye in the breast-stroke event, with B> Tuppin. second. Club members are reminded that subscriptions can be paid.at the Baths at any-time. It has come to "Splash's" ears that the club is going into the queabion of filtering and anaking the water tepid at the baths. Mr. I>avidson waited on the committee and outlined the working of the plant and the cost of installing same. He also vgave examples of the different baths that the plant has been, operating. The Oathbert College has,had.l?he water in for two year and it is purer now than, when it was put in and has had nbput 400 swimmers per day. all "the year round. ''Splash" is endeavouring -to get full particulars and of this plant and will then be able to go more frilly into the question. -

Arrangements are well in hand f?r i the opening swimming carnival of the j seasofi on the 12th December wtien all the leading swimmers o£ the -Wellington District will Tie competing. W. Cameron, the NiZ. sprint champion will "have to look to his laurels as Norm. Dowsett, of the Hutt Cluo, is after the title. These "swimmers along witk "Stump" Claridge and othars; mil be competing on the 12th. The club will be strong in .refay races this year and will-have a chunce of.capturing the Walker and Hall Oup« for the Flying Squadron. . , The club should take on, water- pplo as t^ey have some promising material on hand and a few old hands to add experience. , - i - Mr, W. A. Bpusfield, the club captain, informs me that he is endeavouring to start this branch of sport in the club. . '
