Tihe Hutt Valley Swimming Club' started off the season with, an evening meeting on Tuesday, J2th November. There was a fair attendance of the public and the events- were got off with dispatch, and were limited to one length dasies. The following , were the results:— .

7 o'clock, and both public and j-wim-mers are invited to be present.
The Club intends holding a big Carnival on the 12th of December wfeen the 50 Yards Wellington Chaaapion&h.ip will most likely be on the cards. "Splash" hopes that this is so, as it will give the speed merchants a bit of a blow out for Eyan and Greer when they arrive. The club will "bave two or three starters and are almost assured of a place if not a win with. Norm. Dowsett at the head of the team
E. Melntyre, the club's colt, «warn very well on Tuesday and will ]->c in tiie money shortly.
E. Tuppin who won the double was a bit surprised. "Dick" will have to watch his leg action in the breast
stroke
. The Misses Price swam well, lima surprising everyone.
Miss House is another, proinising swimmer and more will be heavd of iieT. . .
The ladies of the club were out in good numbers and quite shaded the men's section.
B. Gellati, Wellington's intermediate champion, has joined the club as an associate member.
"Splash" would like to see the Petpne artists come; out. There are quit« a number of young ladies who are rather good swimmers.
Next -week's programme includes a dive, and Miss Mavis Ashby may be induced to enter, also Miss E. M:iy.
Members "who want a little. coaching as' to correct methods of diving t>nd swimming can have same by approaching the club's captain, or Mr. Pen-liall, the bath eustodianj -wh.o will be oii'y too pleased to explain.
