TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOL
The Annual '.-Sunday JSphool' celebrations were held last .Sunday. The church was filled for the three services. Thu mtyrnihg- service was conducted by ILvriigelist Garner, the affernooh and 'ev.etting was conducted by the children. The children were trained by Mr Chas. ( Gn Wednesclay the aanual tea .meeting was held at 6 p.m.. Tlie: parents and children again, came along iit full fdrce.' The ladies waiting Upon, the^'tables had which was held at the. Hut t.-Park cost £8 6s. Recently * the. Sunday, School spent the sum of £4 on a new Set 6f hymriar- ' ies. Ten scholars sat for; the. -recent Scripture 'exampiation, all gaining, high handed- to t-lie- children 1?y Mlrs Wearne and the primary department by Miss 0. was very gratifying. The number on the last year. A credit,balance to the Sunday School of £^8 was shown. The picnic roll was. 155, being a gain of 18. over Meidrum. The report of the Sunday Seliool was read by the Sunday School Secretary (Mr • Glms Leyland) whicH a very busy time in. providing the child- . ren' with their tea. At; 7.30 p.m. the church was .again packed to its utmost to witness the receiving- their prizes and, to listen again to the children as. they sang their special hymns. The Rev. R. T. H. Wearne (Minister of the church) presided. The total num. 'h&v, of prizes presented to the children was 142. The' senior school prizes were marks. The work on the whole, is enequragihg. : ' , „ \ Diuung the evening Mi" Wearhe performed a very pleeasing duty by present ing the choirmaster (Mr Chas. Leyland) with, a fifteen jewel Svrtss lever silvex wristlet watch. Mr Wea^n^ spoke in very glowing* terms of the work done by Mr Leyland, both in the church and Sunday Sdhool. The watch which was beautiful-' ly, engraved was given by the members, teacher and children* Mr Eeyland suitably, responded. ■-■•'-.' . :,. ° Representatives were present from, •the Terrace a.^d Congregational Ghurehes in'the: persons- of Mr Lankshear and Mr MoHer, and both conveyed greetings, from -/their respective churches.', ' .
