B. and F. BIBLE SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of t&e. Western Hutt and Belmont Branch of tlie 'British, and Foreign Bible Society was held last Friday afternoon at fhe' beautiful residence of Mts. John Mitchell "Casa vlioma."
Mrs. Mitchell presided over an attendance of fifteen members and friends of the Branch. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs. Ballantyne and Mrs. Feist. Tixe President welcomed Mrs. Porter, organising secretary for Wellington District, who then opened the meeting with a short prayer. The Secretary, Mrs. S. Hoggard reported on the activities of the Branch during the past year. The very gratifying antount of £14/15/3 was recorded as having been •collected. Mrs Porter gave a very interesting tajik on the
woTk of the Society, which was appreciatively enjoyed. It w ; as with regret that the resignation of Mrs Hoggard as secretary was: received.
The following officers for the ensuing year were elected:—President, Mrs John Mitchell (re-elected); "Vice-Presi-dent Lady''Roberts and Mrs.'Katusche; Secretary, Miss M. Presants. . Collectors Mesdames Natusche; Boyd, Martin and Lawton. .
A delightful afternoon tea was then served.
During the meeting opportunity was taken to present Lady Roberts and Mrs Porter wiijh beautiful bouquets, the work of Mrs. Mitchell.
