WAINUI-O-MATA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.

Recently the Wainui-omata Women's Institute held its monthly meeting and

also celebrated its second birthday. At the monthly meeting Mrs Burrows instructed memlbers in "Modern Orazywork.". The afternoon's programme was concluded 'by musical games and afternoon tea. .

The birthday party, which took the form of a dance, was very successful. Floral head-dresses were worn by the ladies and original ones by the gents. Miss K. Baskette, with 'Red Rose," carried off tine ladies' first prize, while the gentlemen's prize, kindly donated by Miss Crowther, fell to Mr.. B. Burdan. The President, Mrs. Heathcote,

then cut the birthday cake (made by Miss Crowther), and in a brief and happy/ speech congratulated all- who had helped on tßie auspicious occasion. Anld Lang Syne wag sung and the third year of this prosperous Institute commenced.
