ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

A meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board was held on Thursday afternoon. Present: —Messrs A. W. Press, A. J. McCurdy, H. W. Lawrence, E. Windley, L. Stewart, J. W. McEwan, S. Blacldey.

The Technical Committee recommended that the tender of Messrs Eosenfeld and Go. be accepted for the supply -of hardwood poles at £475/11/8. It was decided that the engineer be authorised to carry only one month's supply of Back Insulators in store. The recommendations were adopted. .

The engineer reported that the BestLiddle line, Oharui Valley, was completed on the 20th July, and power switched on. Complaints from Normandale re low voltage necessitated the raising of taps on the Lower Hutt Borough pump substation. The number of consumers to date was 8695, electric ranges to date 909, cow plants 52, water heaters 684.

Mr. Windley stated that the residents of Oharui Valley desired to thank the Board for the manner in which the work had been carried out.
