Taita Juniors won by default from Wellington on Saturday.
Mr George Chittock passed away last Sunday week after a long illness. Deceased "was well known throughout the Valley and leaves a wife and three children to mourn their loss. Mr H. Chittoek of Otaki is a- brother. The late Mr Chittock was interred in the Anglican Church graveyard in the presence of. a-' large number of friends.
Market prices are fairly steady and some good prices are recorded. Cabbages are bringing 11/- sack; cauliflowers 15/----saek; potatoes 11/- cwt; carrots 3/casej leeks lid bunchj lettuce 25/- case; swedes 5/6 case, red beet 2/6 case.
Tai£a Junior team will meet Selwyn at the local ground this Saturday when a good game should result. Mr A. Li. Clark will control the game.
