A NEW OIL LINE.

Mr. D. B. Boggard, the Hutt County Council representative upon the City and Suburban Highways Board, mentioned at the last meeting of ithe board that the Texas Oil Company, had applied to his council £or the right to run pipes from the wharf ait Foint Howard to the industrial area. Permission had 'been granted, said Mr. Hoggard, but would require statutory confirmation, the work to be done to the satisfaction of the county engineer, who would consult with the City Engineer. The teTms of the grant provided that the company shoud shift the pipes at its ownexpense should that be necessary as a result of the laying of water mains or a similar work.

The City Engineer, Mr. GK A. Hart, said that the matter had not so far come before him. No such permission should be given without consulting the engineers concerned. .< . ■
