SPORTS MEETING
ATHLETIC CLUB TO BE FORMED
That Moera lias proved itself to be • sports loving community was further, evidenced last Tuesday evening when a big crowd assembled at the Moera HaU at a special sports meeting convened by Messrs Malm, Gruchow pans Mr MeEwan was in the chair and alter MrMalin, Mr Gruchow and other gentlemen had outlined the^objects tf ?he gathering it was put **»£■£" meeting and carried enthusiastically that a club known, as the Moera Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club be formed and that it does all in its power to assist
other branches of sport such as tennis and cricket. ~ .
Mr F. Gruehow was elected actingsecretary and he was instructed, to write to the Wellington Centre asking permission that the Club be established.
After much discussion it was decided that the club colours be green singlets with red band.
The calling of the next meeting was left in the hands of the secretary, pending advice from the Wellington Centre. There was quite a number of likely active members who forwarded their names and from all accounts a strong club should eventuate.
The meeting tlien concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair . Among the representatives from other clubs present was Mr Milne of the Hutt Valley Cycling Club. - "
