OBITUARY.
The : death occurred at Lower Hutt
on Monday of Mrs. Emtna Anne Cdtterj relict of the late Thomas: Cotter, of Silverstream, one of the few surviving pioneers of the' tipper Hutt Valley. The eldest-laughter of the late WilliamGeorge: Haybittley of Wellington, whocame'to New Zealand in 1842, deceased was born in Cuba Street, but spent most of her life in Silverstream on the
Cotter Estate, wihich was recently purchased as a pTosepetive site for the new St. Patrick's College. Mrs Cotter was long associated with St. John's Church at Trentham and assisted towards its renovation at the time of its' jubilee of dedication, and was buried1 in its churchyard, among her rriumeroTiS1 relatives and "family connections, yes-' terday by the Rev. Kendrick. Two daughters (Mrs. W. M Cleland, of Otakij and Mrs N. J. Bennington, of Lower. HTutt) survive her; also a bro j ther (Mr. Ealph Haybittle,,of Ha,wera) and sisters (Mrs. W. Kitchen, of Carterton, Mrs. Charles Seagar, of Silverstream, and Mrs. Donald Eeid, of P'almerston North). Their mother (nee Emma G-ooding) was also an early Wellington pioneer. - "' .
