HI£TT SENIOR £ v. WESLEY.

This game was played oir Hutt No. 1 ground on Saturday last. Play opened at ji very fast pace, Wesley pressing very hard after the opening bully. After -the'first quarter of an hour Wesley

opened..the scoring per medium or^ Phillpots who played a heady game on the wing for Wesley. This seemed to tako effect on the Hutt players who soon after carried play to the opposing circle where a breach enabled Hoare, with, a fast shot, to score, from a penalty corner. Half time sounded shortly after.

Play in the second spell was very even. Up and down play ensued for - several minutes, when a great combined effort by Wesley forwards enabled Bouse to score. This reverse soon took effect on Hptt forwards who carried play to the opposing circle wherp GwilHam with a good shot found the net. Play of a very fast nature followed, Wesley -taki^ /ball down field several times, only to be checked by "the Hutt backs who time and again saved the situation. Defence, however, was soon turned into attack and after some good passing tactics by Hutt forwards/Hoarse secuTed and scored a fine goal. After a further period of even play the final whistle sounded, the scores being Hutt 3, Wesley 2. •:.'•■! HU.TT SENIOR B v. V.M.C.A.'
