It was decided to request the caretaker to remove the rubbish in the picnic ground to the Council's rubbish dump. Members objected to the turf at the Park being stacked and it was decided co. request the Trotting Club to relay the curf. as the ground is levelled.
The caretaker (Mr D. Beban) reported as follows:—As directed by the Committee I have built a concrete septic tank for the ladies' conveniences, and also connected a down pipe in men's urinal. I have replaced 150 Lawsoniana trees that withered up at the beginning of last year and I am now engaged replanting 30 Ngaio trees which were also affected. When the frosts are over, say ■in September I will plant 24 Pohutukawas. I have the new piece of the Park at the north end laid down in grass and intend using it for a footba?fl ground. This piece of land took a considerable amount of filling and-levelling and has been ploughed as the ground was very uneven. It is being used as a temporary football ground and a charge of 5/- for each match is being made. One of the
large double gates at Randwick road entrance has been broken by the Trotting Club's contractor. I reported the matter to the Club's secretary and understand they will see it is renewed. The main buildings have a much better appearance since the Troting Club had them painted. As I am using a kerosene lamp at my residence would it be too much to ask your committee to instal electric light and I would pay it off in monthly instal-
ments.
Mr Toomath moved that tendefs be called for the installation of the electric Jight in the caretaker's house and that the executive be given power to have the work carried out.
Mr Hobbs seconded. —Carried.
Members paid a tribute to the splendid uork that was being done by the caretaker who was giving every satisfaction.
