The making of a motion picture thrill often becomes more than a thrill to the players participating in the action. There were three badly frightened film favourites who descended a California v mountain after fiiiishing one of the big scenes in Columbia Pictures' '/Fashion Madness" which wil be shown at the King George Theatre on Saturday. MONDAY AND TUESDAY "BEGGARS OF LIFE" Wallace Beery for more than a year continuously in comedies, returns to a dramatic characterisation in "Beggars of Life" the story of hobo life which Jim Tully's personal narrative of the same name, to be shown at the King ■George Theatre next Monday and Tuesday. In mortal fear of her foster-father, a farmer, Nancy orphan in a moment of panic, shoots the man. The killing is dis- ( covered by Jim, a young hobo and Nancy seizes on this wanderer to help her escape. She dresses in a man's rough clothes and Jim grudgingly, consents to ! aid her. A brakeman throws them from a k train and Nancy's ankle is injured. This i injury and hunger drive .the pair to a hobo encampment where Arkansas Snake and Oklahoma Red vie fpr leadership. ..;. *" Detectives break up the encampment " and the tramps escape aboard a box car. I Red Jtries to throw Jim off the train but Nancy by a ruse frustrates Red and precipates a quarrel between him and . the ; Snake. In the fight Jim gets Red's revolver and holds Red off. Detectives searching the train again break up the camp and most of the hoboes jump from " the train. Jim, Nancy, a-giant Negro and a sick tramp are alone in an isolated shack. Red turns up unexpectedly with an automobile and ..girl's clothes for Nancy. She and Jim escape in the automobile. The sick tramp dies and Red - dresses him in Nancy's garments and gets fire to the car. Detectives arrive and see the* supposed cremation of . Nancy. At the climax, Red having saved the youthful pair is killed and Jim and Nancy speed towards Canada and peace.
