WAIWETU PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION.

Monthly General Meeting. The monthly general meeting of the Waiwetu Progressive Association was hold on Thursday last. In the absence of the President (Mr. H. H. Brown), Mr Alex. Anderson occupied the chair. He, together with Mr Brown, were congratulated on the support accorded them in the elections, and the hope was expressed by members that at the next elections they would be successful. It was decided also, to convey to Mr. Patrick, a resident of the district, the congratulations of the members of the Association on his su'efeoss in being elected to the Council.

A reply from the -Railway Department stating that to alter the 10M(5 p.m. Lainbton-Watcrloo tmin would, inconvenience wharf-labourers using the train, was received to the Association's request that the train be delayed till 10.20 to allow picture theatre patrons a reasonable chance of catching the train, It was decided to hold the matter over. .
