HUTT VALLEY DRAMATIC & OPERATIC SOCIETY.

"The Private Secretary."

It is with considerable pleasure that we luok forward to the presentation of '' The Private Secretary, "by our talented local Dramatic Society I. One remembers pleasurably the excellent performance of the musical comedy '' Cupid ami the Ogre,"-and from the reports that are current inHhe Hutt, this new show promises to be by far the best thing of its kind presented to

Hutt patrons

A comedy brimful of laughs, and not only laughs but real side-splitting Toars^ packed with screamingly funny situations and sparkling all the way through with rich humour, .it cannot fail, as indeed it never has, to delight any audience.^ Eehearsals have been under way. for some considerable time and the producer is quite[confident of presenting a performance of real professional standard. The caste -has been well chosen and each player seems perfectly adapted to his or her Individual role. To explain the plot of the story would be tb spoil the show, but one can | readily appreciate the humourous possibilities of such a combination as a nervous landlady, a cantankerous old gentleman, a namby-pamby 'curate, two breezy young fellows out for fun, two charming and high-spirited "flappers" a tailor witjh ambitions to become' a real "gentleman'" and last but by no means .least, an old lady" very much, under the influence of .Spiritualism. ; There, will be line's from this show* that will "stick" arid one can imagine the roars of -laughter that will greet the "Private Secretary's"" gag .lines, of "D'you Know" and his inimitable "M'yes." - ' ' Really to miss this show would be a calamity and we strongly recommend1 all people of the Hutt to make sure" of a seat for t-he performance, as we understand that ticket sales -have been very extensive and a packed house is certain. The date of 'The' Private. Secretary' is billed for Monday next} May 27th, at the King George Theatre and, adopting the slogan of the "company for this production one can confidently anticipate "The Biggest Laugh' You're Evsr

Had,"
