AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

■---•At" a recent meeting of the management committee of the; .Lower Hutt Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club, many matters concerning the advancement of the sport in Lower Hutt were considered. ' '

The lads will be under the eye of the senior membersof the club and they will not be allowed to compete out of their class. "Far toomany athletes are ruined through overindulgence in strenuous contests while young; but with men of the calibre of the present management committee of the club looking after their welfare, there is no danger of such a calamity occuring. It was also decided to enroll honorarymembers at a minimum subscription of 2/6. They will receive a receipt fronx the treasurer and- also an honorarymember's card signed by the club captain and the secretary. Anyone desirous of helping the club in this direction are requested to call upon Mr. Bill. Morrison, | There are a few of last year's members whose subscriptions are still outstanding.
