HUTT LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The quarterly meeting of the Hutt Licensing Committee was held at Lower Hutt on Wednesday. Present: HFoley, J. M. Power, A. Bowden, J. E. August, Mr A. Anderson, occupied the-^ chair in the absence of Mr W. K. Rid-^ dell, S.M. Renewals of publician's licenses were granted to B. E. Purcell (Victoria Hotel), and V. E. Meagher (BellevueHotel). Senior Sergeant McKelvie reported that the necessary conditions in connection with these hotels had been complied with, and the police had no ob-# jeetions to the renewals being granted. A -transfer from E. T. Home to FH. Eennie for the Taita Hotel was approved. Mr Anderson congratulated the policeon the excellent manner in which they,, supervised tho hotels and the marked, improvement that has taken place.
