ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

Hutt Thirds v. Stop-Outs. j A strenuous match was played on Saturday between the above teams at the Recreation Ground, both the teams being .unbeaten in the competition which made them both eager to retain their unbeaten certificate. "The^ visitors opened the scoring through the home goalie hesitating with the shot which should easily have been held. The Hutt team equalised before change of ends, also missing a penalty and several good chances of scoring, half time arriving with the scores one all. On resumption the home team pressed and practically penned the visitors in their own half for the remainder of the game, and although awarded another penalty kick for a deliberate foul in front of goal, they; failed to add to their score, the match ending a draw — one all. The home team should have won 4 goals to nil. The halves and full backs gave a, sterling display for the home team, the goal keeper being very safe for the visitors. Mr. Hill kept the game well in hand.
