Owing to the heavy rain at the beginning of the week a big slip came down in the Taita Gorge. A large gang of men were working on Tuesday to remove the spoil before the race traffic commenced on Wednesday morning. The market is holding fairly steady and some good prices have been receiv-. Play in the first half was very even and play centred most in mid-field. The local forwards seemed to be slightly superior to Poneke in the tight, but Poneke made some great runaways in the loose. No score had been registered at half time.

Soon after resuming play Poneke opened ijie score through one of - the Taita backs mis-playing the balL The kick at goal failed. Poneke 3, Taita 0. Strenuous play followed and it was shortly afterwards that Poneke gained their second try, through securing the ball from the ruck. Play hovered in mid-field for the rest of the game, and the final whistle blew with the score: Poneke 6, Taita 0.
