GRAND UNITED ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS, N.Z.

Star of Lower Hutt Branch, No.-7,

The -Star of Lower Hutt Branch, G.Y.OJD.F., held their fortnightly meeting in the Scouts' Hall with a good muster present. Bro. T. W. Conley, N.G presided. One account for sick pay was passed for payment. Bro. W. Bain, P.G.M. unveiled the P.N.G. Merit Board and complimented the Branch, on the progress it had made and was still making. Bro. T. Conley, N.G., thanked the P.G.M. and also suitably replied. Three, juvenile members were initiated and two male senior members w rere initiated into the Order. Application for membership was received from three other juveniles and one senior.

The meeting adjourned at 8.20 as they were challenged tor a "500" Shield by a Branch of the 1.0i0.F., who, however, failed to show up at the appointed time. However, the tables were made up by the members present and a very pleasant evening was spent. *«& It was decided to hold an open evening on August Ist at 7.45 p.m. There will be dancing, singing, games, etc. For further particulars apply to the secretary. Particulars of the above branch can also be supplied to intending members from , Mr. F. Lane, secretary, 7 Market Street, Lower Hutt.
