HUTT DENTAL CLINIC.
The usual monthly meeting of the Hutt Dental Clinic Committee was held on Monday, July 2. There were present Mrs Joyce, Messrs Forsyth (chairman), Cairns, -jJurgess, lieiily^ Clout, r'egier and Gearing. . - The secretary reported that an application to the Lower Hutt Borough Council for improved lighting had been granted. The suggested alteration by the Clinic Committee was amended by the Counucil. This will effect as great an improvement in lighting and will not spoil the outside appearance of the building. The secretary was instructed to write thanking the council for its promptitude in dealing with the matter, and for its offer to do the work. An application was received froni/the secretary of the Boulcott School Committee, for representation on the Clinic Committee-. As" the scholars attended the school had already been charted and were receiving attention, it was decided to admit them. It was decided to approach the management of the King George Theatre and endeavour to arrange for a picture benefit. Messrs Clout and Gearing were appointed to deal -with the matter. The report for the month of June was presented ami showed that 15S patients had been treated, involving 259 attendances and 6.15 operations. The committee remarked on the average number of operations per child, which indicated that children's mouths were in a bad state. The secretary reported that the box collections had shown a considerable falling off in May and June being only t half the .amounts collected for the months of March and April.
