HXJTT VALLEY CLTTB. j .. The following are the results -of .games played on 16th June: — .Senior A nil, v. Karori 5. Senior B 5, v. Karori 1. Juniors 1, v. Karori 4. Maefarlane netted for Hutt Juniors. Thirds 0", v. Wesley Al. Scorers for Hutt —Phillips 3, Johnson 2, and McDonald 1. In the .Senior A competition Karori .-defeated Hutt after a. game full of sparkling incidents. Practically all through the match the blacks were in the ascendency due to the Hutt halves being disorganised by casualties —Wall and Jenness having to remain on the bank through injuries .received on the previous Saturday. Coupled with this Bob Lusty received a nasty smack under the eye with the ball just prior to lialf-tinie, and until about fifteen minaites from the final whistle Hutt played with ten men, Wall then filling the vacancy. The first half was disappointing as far as exhibition hockey -was concerned, and ended Karori 4, Hutt nil. K. Perrin 2, and Niinmo 2 netted for Karori. The second half opened with the maroons having more of the play but they could not penetrate the opposition—better hockey now being played. West, Upton and P. Lusty were prominent on the losers' iside. From a penalty corner Hutt narrowly missed opening their account, .and towards the end McGavin added Jvarori's fifth goal. Coupled with j>laying new players Hutt had several casualties' during the game —thus the ■debacle. Karori 5, Hutt 0. Mr H.^ .Hatch was the referee. In the Senior B competition Hutt -easily accounted for Karori on the Hutt Rec, to the tune of 5 goals to .1. The visitors were one man short throughout the game and the locals "were on the offensive most of the time. Thorpe opened the local account to be followed by HodgkinsQn and A. Ut. .Smith. Half time, Hutt ?,, Karoi-i 0. The second half was a repetition of the .•first half. Karori seldom looked d-au-.gerous. A. J. Ross and W. E. Bennett played a sterling defensive game at back. The local goal-keeper was only ■called to action in the first spell and again once in the second. About ten i .minutes from time, when the issue was , beyond doubt, the Hutt left-half left the field and the r goal-keeper filled his place as he was freezing in goal. Hodgkinson and Loader counted for Hutt and one minute from time Hewitt notched the visitor's only goad. Hutt -5, Karori 1. Mr J. W. Russell carried the whistle.
