NOTES BY TJNOMI. ' * Senior B: Hutt 8 Marist 0 y^ ■ A very spirited game was played on Saturday 23rd June, between, the •above teams. The game - opened up •. very interestingly for the start, but by combined play, Hutt soon had matters well in hand. The Hutt back&~ by working hard kept the ball well upfield, giving the forwards plenty of opportunities, many of which they failed to take advantage of. The wingswere swinging the ball well across mak ing the Marist goalie a very busy man. Batchelor, in his centreing, show ing great judgment, some of his shots at goal missing only by inches. The outstanding players were J. Logie r right back, who kicked a wonderful goal. from, nearly halfway, and the halfbacks who were the mainstays of the team. Newlyn was the most" promising inside forward. Marist played a. dogged game and fought right to the end, but lacked the ability to finish, off clever movements. Goals were scored for Hutt by Keillor (1), Newyln (2), T. Chapman (2), J. Logic (1),. Cartrell (1), and Lowry (1).
