WAIWETU PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION

The monthly General Meeting of the "Waiwetu Progressive Association was held on Thursday, 16th inst. Mr O. B. Robinson presiding over a good attendance of members. Messrs Bobinson, Thessman and Nichols were appointed to represent the Association at the meeting of the United Civic Associa^ tions. The secretary reported that the W.E.A. Glasses had commenced in the district and were being held in the Anglican Church Hall on Monday evenings at 7.30. A number of matters were dealt with amongst which was a decision to draw the Council attention to the straying horse nuisance in the "Waiwdtu District. A deputation was formed to wait on the Work Committee re the Hall-Jones footpaths and the drainage of the lowlying land in that vicinity. Several matters were also forwarded to the United Civic Associations for ' consideration. It was also decided that in future general meetings of the Association would be advertised in the "Hutt News."
