UNITED CIVIC ASSOCIATION OF LOWER HUTT

The first meeting of the United Civic Association was. held on Thursday, 14th inst. The Waiwetu Progressive Asand Ratepayers League and the Civic Association were represented. Advice was received that the Normandale Association was also interested though not present. ' , . Mr C. A. Strong of the Civic Association was appointed chairman, Messrs E. and J. Seager of Moera League, vicechairman and Mr F. M. Thessman, secretary. Several motions referred from the Associations were dealt with chief of which was that the Railway Department, be approached with the view to asking them to issue 12 trip bus tickets at a. reasonable rate and that bus tickets be accepted on buses at a ismall extra charge. A vote of sympathy with the Mayor, Mr Strand, in the loss of his mother was passed. # ■'■■■,■■■'.'
