Two servants sitting in the kitchen of a house in Hertfordshire about 25 miles from London, heard voices and then music coming quite plainly from a lighted gas jet. One of them says that she has enjoyed a similar experience on several occasions. There is a crystal receiving set with an earth terminal •fixed to a gas pipe in the house, but on this oeasion it was not being, used. Mr Norman Edwards, editor of Popular Wireless, told a Daily Mail reporter that a possible explanation might be that sounds from the crystal receiver reached the gas pipe by a natural eonduo tor. At the end of the pipe the sounds would possibly bo amplified by the flame. This would, however require a peculiar combination of circumstances.
