A.F.C. DANCE.

"Full house" was the order of the evening when the Hutt Soccer Club held its wind-up dance in the Lyceum Hall recently. From first to last the dancing, under the able direction of Mr. Hall, who officiated as M.C., went with a swing, the excellent music rendered by Vaughan's Regent Orchestra adding greatly to the pleasure of the evening. As a finale to a good season the Club held a social evening in the Oddfellows' Hall on Saturday, September 24th. Following tea, the usual toasts were proposed and honoured, after which a presentation was made to the ladies of the Social Committee of neat badges as a token of the Club's appreciation of their efforts on behalf of the Club during the season. A pleasant surprise was also in store for the members of the senior team, to whose credit was the winning of the Victory Cup this year, each player being presented with a splendid photograph of the team. Afterwards games, musical items, and dancing, under the leadership of Mr, Shadlock, quickly sped the hours away, the evening terminating with hearty cheers for the artists and the singine of "Auld Lang Syne."
