4 CLOSING BAY l<"OR. ENTRIES. Entries in connection with tlio above show which is to be held on thei racecourse, Levin, on Wednesday, 31st January, are coming to hand satisfactorily, and the association hope that the 1917 si ion v, favoured with fine weatiiei", will eclipse all previous ones.
There will be the usual attractions in the way of competitions, men's driving ladies' driving, jumping, walking and manyt others, and there will also be the various side-shows which ihelp to miako the day's outing interesting to on© and oil who are out for a day's pleasure.
The purebred caittle classes are expected to be far superior to anything yet shown in Levin, notwithstanding that at the 1916 show the quality was particularly good, and was much commented on by the various judges who were present.
Tn the sheep classes the entries will be' quite equal to previous years, if not better, but owing to scarcity of labwi'i', many farmers who would be exhibitors, find it difficult (to give the ti me necessary m getting their exhibits ready for show pui poses. Being a patriotic show, the profits of-, which are to be handed to the Horowhe 11 ua County ! War Relief Association, the -show committee hope to be favoured with « record attendance and a good numbe rof entries. General entries close with the secretary, Box 27 Levin;, at 9 o'clock tonight. 'Late entries will be received up to 5 p.m. on Saturday ,20th January, but no extra charge will be made for entrance!.
